Summary of research interests and expertise:

Trish Bredar is a researcher specializing in British literature of the long nineteenth century. She received her PhD in English, with a graduate minor in Gender Studies, from the University of Notre Dame in 2021. Her doctoral thesis focused on representations of walking women in nineteenth-century literature, and her work on this topic has appeared in European Romantic Review and Victorians: A Journal of Culture and Literature. Another article which uses a corpus of manuscript diaries to reassess the role of walking in women's everyday lives is forthcoming from Victorian Literature and Culture. During her IES fellowship, she will be conducting initial research on a new monograph project that examines representations of homelessness in Victorian literature.
