Summary of research interests and expertise:

I am a cultural and historical geographer with expertise in heritage, memory, and identity, particularly focused on the spatialities of difficult histories. During my time at Deakin University, where he served as Associate Professor and Course Director of the Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies programs, I have published extensively on Holocaust testimony, education, exhibitions, and memorial landscapes of war and genocide. After three decades of involvement in Holocaust education, remembrance, and research, including serving on the Australian delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, I was appointed CEO of the Melbourne Holocaust Museum in January 2024. I have since moved to the Royal Historical Society of Victoria, where I am the Executive Director.
