Bio

Tinahy is a PhD Candidate in the School of Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). Her research examines the extent to which policy actors within the European Commission have a role in embedding the constitutional principle of the protection of fundamental rights in secondary legislative proposals, relating to asylum, deportation, and immigration border management in the EU’s Area of Freedom, Security and Justice. She holds a BA (Hons) in Politics from McGill University, an MSc in International Migration and Public Policy from the London School of Economics (LSE), and an MRes in Public Policy from QMUL. Prior to undertaking her PhD, she worked in the migration and humanitarian sector in Geneva, Switzerland.
