Bio

Ala Al-Mahaidi is a Communications Officer at ENNHRI, the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions. He holds a Master of Arts in Understanding and Securing Human Rights from the School of Advanced Study, University of London, and a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Sydney.

Ala is interested in the economics of displacement, including refugee and IDP livelihoods and the economic impacts of displacement on host countries and communities. He also has an interest in human rights-based approaches to economic and development policy.
