Profile
Chiara Giuliani teaches Italian Literature and Culture in the Department of Italian at University College Cork, where she has been a Lecturer since 2016. Her main research interests are questions of home, memory and material culture in postcolonial narratives, in particular in the ways in which ordinary places are turned into home. This was also the topic of her PhD, obtained in 2015 from the University of St Andrews, and of a forthcoming monograph Home, Memory and Belonging in Italian Postcolonial Literature (Palgrave, 2021). More recently she has been working on the cultural representation of the Chinese community in Italy, especially the role played by 2nd-generation Chinese-Italians.
