Summary of research interests and expertise:

A former Lead Practitioner, with over 14 years experience teaching languages in secondary schools in London, Lisa currently works as a teacher educator and is the Course Lead of the PGCE Secondary Languages with QTS at St Mary's University in Twickenham.

Additionally, she is a member of the editorial team of the Languages Gateway, the Advisory Committee for Languages at the British Academy, the Advisory Council of ILCS, and a council member of the Association for Language Learning (ALL). Lisa is also a member of the National Association of Language Advisers (NALA) and of the Chartered Institute of Teaching. Lisa founded the ALL Decolonising Secondary MFL Curriculum Special Interest Group in 2021. 

Her research interests relate to the intersections of race and languages within secondary and secondary teacher education; anti-racism; race equity and decoloniality. 

 

 

Project summary relevant to Fellowship:

Lisa is acting as the practice-based co-supervisor to an LAHP collaborative doctoral award project entitled: ‘Empowering Critical Thinking and Language Acquisition through Artivism and Media Arts’.
