Dr Liv Feijen's academic work focuses mainly on the relationship between philosophy and law in the area of migration control, the EU acquis on asylum and migration, complementary forms of protection, as well as critical humanitarian studies. Her research at the RLI will be on the contribution of international organizations in the development of international refugee law. She has 30 years' experience as a legal and policy adviser at UNHCR with operational field experience from the Balkans, Northern and Eastern Europe Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.

During her fellowshi,Ms Feijen's research will focus on the evolution of international refugee law and the contribution of international organizations in law-making.
