Summary of research interests and expertise:

Kate is Library Services Manager at the Institute of Historical Research, with responsibility for reader services provision within the library and acting as a liaison point with different departments to ensure delivery of technical services. She is responsible for the day to day maintenance of the library webpages. She is a co-convenor of History Day.

Kate received a BA in History of Art and English Literature from the University of York in 1998 and an MSc in Information Science from City University in 2001. Besides various library positions, she worked as a research assistant on a bibliometrics project at City University from 2001 to 2003 before starting at the IHR in 2004. She completed the IHR MA in History, Place and Community in 2025. Her historical interests are varied, and include architectural, landscape, local and social history.
